Village President, Sean Widener
Challenges All Motorists and Bicyclists to Test Their Knowledge!
How well do you know Illinois
laws and safety techniques regarding car and bicycle interactions? In honor of
Bicycle Safety Week, Village President Sean Widener is challenging all
residents - cyclists and drivers - to learn how to share the road safely by
using BikeSafetyQuiz.com, an online resource for adults, children, and
Bicycling is a fun way for people
to be active and healthy. Many people also bike for transportation and commute
to work by bicycle. But, most of us received little or no training in school
about proper bicycling safety techniques, or learned about sharing the road
with bikes in driver education class.
To help fill the education gap,
Ride Illinois, a statewide bicycle advocacy organization, developed
BikeSafetyQuiz.com. This interactive quiz includes lessons for adults,
children, and motorists, and is designed to educate both brand new cyclists and
drivers as well as experienced ones hoping to refine their skills. Most users
can complete the quizzes in 15-30 minutes.
Take part in Bicycle Safety Week
and take the quiz like Sean and Dan did! Show others you care about bike safety
and help us spread the word! Post your selfie with your certificate of
completion using #bikesafetyquiz.
